It seems the voters have purchased a Congressional lemon in House Democrat leadership.  When Democrats took back the House in 2006, their 10 year long PR battle against their version of "corruption" finally started to stick.  As the first order of business, Democrats announced an overhaul in the House ethics process and, after years of losing legislative battles, they also decided to change the rules on how bills came to the floor, when they could be up for a vote, etc.  Well now that they're losing their battles under the very rules they designed, Pelosi has deemed it time to alter the way Congress approves of trade policies.  That seems to be their new credo: if you can’t beat them on politics or policy, just change the rules….or file a lawsuit.

Even the liberal San Francisco Chronicle lambasted Pelosi, calling her out for “playing politics by pandering to free-trade foes.” I don’t know how else to put it - they lie, they cheat, they steal, but not for nothing.  It’s all to pay back the protectionist unions that own them

Minority Leader John Boehner has done an excellent job of compiling this information, and it’s our job to keep it on hand as yet another reason to distrust the Democrats.

UPDATE: And if anyone wants to make the comparison to the Medicare vote, where Democrats cried foul simply because they lost, I am more than happy to argue that point.

Thanks Tom,
How goes the battle? Have they dropped all the charges yet? Can you sue them for damages for false and/or selective prosecution?

One take of Pelosi's actions and it becomes hysterical how the left demonizes you for being able to actually get things done. It is not that I agree with everything that you have done, but for the most part, you were simpy a very effective leader of the GOP and therefore, they had to bring you down no matter how or what the facts were.

Shocking indeed!
Wow. And they get re-elected why? The sad thing is that beginning in 2000 Republicans had a chance to do something really great for America and they let the opportunity slip through their grasp. Don't know how they recover. I still hope McCain picks the right person for the Veep job because that will get him elected or send him home.

Corruption...
Ohio elected all Liberal Democrats, at the state level in 06. As of today, two of the state top executives are in trouble.

The Attorney General's office is caught up in a MAJOR SEX SCANDEL FROM THE STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL....on down. Sexual Assult charges have filed by two women, against the Attorney General and two of his CRONIES.

The Secretary of State wants to change the voting system COMPLETELY. All ballots will be MAILED IN. No more voting booths !!! The cost to the taxpayer...around...$5B....

The "Three C" corridor, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati put Gov. Strickland and his buddies into office and are NOW GOING TO PAY THE PRICE FOR THE NEXT 2 1/2 YEARS. Ohio is in a major freefall economically and scandel wise.

Most of the current governmant is from the Youngstown area. Wasn't Rep James Traficant (D) from Youngstown ???? They are all buddies together since 70s.

Governor Taft (R) was caught in a major corruption scandel....HE PLAYED GOLF ON CERTAIN COURSES AND FAILED TO REPORT THE FAVORS....

Communist Liars

When I was a child growing up, we were taught to look up to and respect our leaders for they were supposed to be our brightest minds who would lead this country with their supposedly vast knowledge.

Now that I am grown and educated, I find myself observing these supposed leaders and asking myself, how in God’s name can people elect such ignorant and supposedly educated individuals who have not the first clue on how to run their own lives, much less a country.

God help this nation. Our supposed leaders have fast tracked it towards bankruptcy at light speed pace.

It has been two years, when is that limp d!c democrat Commie Ronnie Earle going to get his files in order so he can show the world all the laws that Tom supposedly broke. More lies, more mouth, more communist actions from the communists themselves.

Two years. ROFLMAO.

Do the American People Want Free Trade?
The question is, not how Pelosi's going about it, but whether the American people have had enough of free unrestricted trade when it seems to mean that all the other countries walk all over us. Like immigration, the message is finally sinking in in Washington: We don't want illegal immigrants here; thrown them out; AND we don't want free trade deals that shaft the American people and their ability to make a decent wage. To the extent that Pelosi is trying to make it happen -- getting rid of bad trade deals -- we might just want to pay some attention. This is only a partisan issue if we make it one.

Culture of Corruption?
It seems that Fancy Nancy has no problems breaking the rules when it serves her purposes. Who expected anything else, though? Come to Congress campaigning on changing the status quo, and then make everything worse-- It's the Democrat creed.
