have read the Constiution. I read it about a month ago for kicks. |

Yes, yes, yes, Sen. Barack Obama really did - while on his “Behold, It’s Me World Tour” - interfere with American foreign policy and troop withdrawal negotiations in Iraq:
The Obama campaign spent more than five hours on Monday attempting to figure out the best refutation of the explosive New York Post report that quoted Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari as saying that Barack Obama during his July visit to Baghdad demanded that Iraq not negotiate with the Bush Administration on the withdrawal of American troops. Instead, he asked that they delay such negotiations until after the presidential handover at the end of January. [emphasis mine -admin]

Can we get DC to celebrate by following it? |
|
No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; MAKE ANY THING BUT GOLD AND SILVER COIN A TENDER IN PAYMENT OF DEBTS; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility. (emphasis added)
Article 1 Section 10
So when do go back to using the St. Gaudian $20 gold piece or the old Morgan Silver Dollars? |

This is a great reminder. |

If you really do carry a copy of the constitution in your breast pocket, what did you do with it when you violated it by unlawfully invading the privacy of Terri Schivo, her husband and her family with that disgraceful congressional vote to interfere with their personal matters?
Maybe you do carry the constitution in your pocket, but whether you actually read it or simply use it as an extra Kleenex is another story that needs to be explained. |
|
you violated it by unlawfully invading the privacy of Terri Schivo, her husband and her family with that disgraceful congressional vote to interfere with their personal matters?
Yea, I am sure Terry's wish was--please dear if I am every incapacitated start living with another woman and please starve me to death.
I never really knew Tom Delay much before that whole incident but he stood up for a woman who couldn't stand up for herself because she was so badly disabled. That was the legalized murder of a disabled woman and because Schaivo was her husband no one could apparently stop it.

Moonkeeper asks the musical question: "Can we get DC to celebrate by following it?"
You already have too much power over the District, considering that they have a very limited presence on Capitol Hill. They live "taxation without representation" every day. You oughta try it and see how you like it. |

I was watching the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC last night, and she was interviewing Bill Maher from his office at HBO. Something caught my eye behind Maher's right shoulder: Tom DeLay's book, "No Retreat, No Surrender" was on the bookshelf. I wonder why: Fodder for jokes, or a sincere appreciation for much of what DeLay says?
Y'all can read the Constitution one more time if you need to, but I'd also recommend DeLay's book. And then ask yourself: Is this guy a CINO? I mean, read it and tell me what you think. |
|
Two of today's foremost concerns should be, the very Constitutionality of:
the "Federal Reserve 'SYSTEM*'"
(*Watch the United States' Supreme Court actually outlaw "Federal Reserve Notes'" being legal tender!
&:
"Hemp Prohibition!"
also, Drug Prohibition is, quite rather and altogether, - egregiously un-Constitutional....
PS: RON PAUL LIVES FOREVER!
PPS: Remember Bob Barr?! |

Just asking what you think--if the law says it is illegal to use "funds" in a certain way, do you think it is only referring to cash? Or do you think checks might be considered "funds"? |
|
|
Catscats -- Seems to me any form of money that is applied against a cost (past, present, or future) is "funds." I don't think the distinction you're making is important. What's the context? |
|
|
Because our web site host appears to have successfully argued that his money laundering is not really that because the funds involved consisted of checks and not cash. Or so said three Republican judges on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in a related case. |
|
|
Catscats -- Thanks for the clarification. I haven't been following Mr. DeLay's personal troubles all that closely. As a 30-year veteran of Defense Department budget offices, though, his defense, if based on that, sounds pretty feeble. I'd hate to hang my hat on that. I'd probabl6y wind up hanging my head instead. |

Tom's lawyer is already trumpeting that this ruling "completely vindicates" his client. |
