The Forgotten Man

It's just like Democrats to think they can tax their way into a housing recovery. Now they want the 95 percent of homeowners who are paying their mortgage on time to pony up taxdollars to pay for their neighbor's mortgage, too. On top of that, Democrats are
funneling a 35 MILLION dollar slush fund to their best friends, the trial lawyers!
Here is conservative Congressman Tom Feeney's take on it from the House floor...well said.

Sounds like we need to find a leader
and fast. Any ideas? We're kind of stuck with every liberal's best friend. Is this bill named "The McCain-Boxer Bill"?

Is this the same bill that is sending
millions to McCain's friends at La Raza too?

Any Positive Suggestions?
Tom, that's all well and good, but do you have any positive suggestions as to how to deal with the current mortgage meltdown? I know you'd like to say let's let the market do its own correction, but that's already too late, what with the Bear Sterns bail-out. Now that we've patched up the rich guys, what do we plan to offer Joe Sixpack?

I hope all of those who
beat up on trial lawyers would stop for a minute and remember that it was trial lawyers who sucessfully fought to prevent the Duke lacrosse players from being falsely accused of rape. The fact is, a lot more innocent people would be railroaded by inept and/or grandstanding prosecutors without trial lawyers. Think about how incompetent, say, the dept of education is --well, prosecutors' offices are just as incompetent. So who is looking out for you, to paraphrase Bill O'Reilly -- its trial lawyers.

Quick edit!
You wrote, "to pony up taxdollars to pay for their neighbor's mortgage, too."
My edit would have read, "to pony up taxdollars to pay for their neighbors' mortgages, too."

Trial Lawyers Not the Problem
observe 1234, man, you hit the nail on the head: I'd MUCH rather have trial lawyers winning the occasional excess award for their clients, than not have them around at all.
You hate 'em.
Till you need 'em.

And your edit
