My wife and I recently had the opportunity to travel to Colorado Springs and visit with my dear friend, Dr. James Dobson, of Focus on the Family.  While there we discussed the need to develop a better system of foster care in this country, such as the project we started in Texas called Rio Bend – a unique foster community that provides a permanent home for abused and neglected kids.  The visit was just wonderful and I am so grateful for Dr. Dobson's leadership on all issues promoting strong, healthy families.

Here you can find my interview with Dr. Dobson, where we discussed everything from my book to our efforts to improve foster care and the current political climate.  I would be interested to hear what you all think about this, and I encourage you to regularly listen to his programs.

Dobson's Charity
Life's short, and I got tired of waiting for the love fest to end, so I booked kinda early.

It only remains to make the point that all Americans need to know that "Focus on the Family" is more than super-conservative Dobson and his far right political agenda. He really does run a terrific organization, one that truly cares for and reaches out to those in great need, Rio Bend being only one of many fine initiatives. I've always felt that if Dobson would cool his rhetoric he'd get a lot more in financial and other contributions from the entire spectrum of Americans, and that would be a more blessed thing for us than the limited support he now receives for his wonderful work. But I guess if he wants to be needlessly confrontational that's his choice.

Dr James Dobson and Dr Charles Stanley
There are so few men and women today who have the courage of their convictions and who lack the integrity to strive to anchor those convictions to the anchor we call "Truth." However, Dr James Dobson and Dr Charles Stanley are two such men. If one were to say such a thing to them they would be the first ones to remind everyone to never put your complete faith or trust in men and that would include preachers too even though we all like to hold them to a higher standard. Instead their response would be...Keep your eyes on tha Prize! ...meaning Jesus or to take no chances and pray about it.

Both men do not relish the spotlight but somehow the liberal MSM has relished showering the spotlight on these two men...controversial though they may be.......like salt stinging a wound....and indeed our nation does have many wounds that need healing....but most of all our nation is in great need of the God it seems to have turned its back on.

A Christian Man
You say Dr.Dobson has a far right adjenda. I say he has a very moral adjenda. He stands up for the right of an unborn infant, he can make a hard problem seem so simple to solve. He is a man of principles, if you call that a far right adjenda, I say their should be more like him. I became familiar when President Regan appointed an committe to study and give a report on the effect of pornography on human life, and I have listen to him ever since. He is a man who stands up for what he believes.
